This year’s conference will be divided into two sessions which will be both physical and virtual. Only 50 participants will gather for each physical meeting while others will join the discussions virtually due to restrictions for preventing the spread of COVID-19.

i) Regional meetings: Three regional meetings will be held in the eastern, western and northern parts of the country to bring together CHI promoters, experts, local authorities, healthcare providers, the civil society and development partners to educate them about health insurance, community health insurance in Uganda and the proposed NHIS. Participants will be empowered with knowledge to establish and expand CHI schemes and to demand for NHIS. 

ii) Centralised meeting: The major event will take place in Kampala to harmonise views from regional meetings and capture those of policy makers and other key stakeholders at national level to achieve a balanced debate. It will be attended by policy makers, local and international experts, representatives of CHF scheme members, promoters, healthcare providers, development partners, academia, civil society actors and local government leaders.
