7th National Community Health Financing Conference

at Protea Hotel, Entebbe
Theme: Towards universal health coverage in Uganda through expanding private and community health insurance schemes.
Sub Themes
- Status of the proposed National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), existing private and community-based health insurance schemes.
- Participation of private health insurance schemes in the proposed NHIS.
- Expanding private commercial and community-based health insurance schemes in Uganda
Conference Objectives were;
- To propose strategies for expanding private and community-based health insurance schemes in Uganda.
- To propose a legal framework for CBHIs to operate in Uganda alongside NHIS to facilitate the achievement of UHC.
- To explore innovative approaches and technological solutions to improve accessibility, efficiency and effectiveness of health insurance schemes for wider coverage.
- To secure political will and action for the introduction of the NHIS.
