Stakeholders’ met to plan for the 8th National Community Health Financing (CHF) conference
On 25th April 2025, Save for Health Uganda (SHU) convened a strategic planning meeting at Humura Resort, Kampala, with the goal of reviewing and finalizing the concept for the upcoming 8th National Community Health Financing (CHF) Conference. This pivotal meeting brought together 11 high-level stakeholders (6 men and 5 women) from key institutions including the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development, Federation of Uganda Employers, Uganda Insurers Association, Uganda Protestant Medical Bureau, and Smart Applications International—reflecting the broad, multi-sectoral commitment to advancing inclusive healthcare financing in Uganda.
The session successfully refined the conference concept, incorporating expert inputs that will shape the agenda and ensure the event addresses Uganda’s most pressing challenges for expanding the Community Based Health Financing schemes. The meeting also produced a curated list of targeted participants, strategically selected to ensure rich dialogue and actionable outcomes at the national conference. These outputs mark a critical step forward in preparing for a conference that will serve as a national platform for policy dialogue, innovation sharing, and partnership building in community-based health financing.
As the next step, SHU will coordinate with key stakeholders to confirm and announce the official dates for the 8th National CHF Conference. SHU will also issue formal invitations to selected participants, ensuring the presence of voices that matter in shaping the future of health financing in Uganda.
This conference promises to be more than just a gathering—it is a catalyst for strengthening health systems through collaboration, advocacy, and sustainable health financing models. Through inclusive planning and strategic engagement, SHU continues to champion people-centered health reforms that leave no one behind.
